Mikhail advises corporate and private clients on the routes of immigration available to them and on the UK’s Points-Based System.
He provides business immigration advice and assistance to start-ups and SMEs, as well as high-net-worth individuals in connection with their applications for leave to enter (or remain) under the various immigration routes currently available such as the Skilled Worker and the Global Business Mobility routes. To this effect, Mikhail has extensive experience of advising sponsors on their internal policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with their specific sponsor duties and guiding them to safely navigate the complex Immigration Rules that apply to obtaining initial sponsor licences and sponsoring migrants.
Over the years, Mikhail has acted extensively for private education institutions in relation to their licensing and sponsorship issues arising under the previous Tiers 2 and 4 of the Points-Based System. He has gained valuable insight and experience in challenging the Home Office’s investigation and decision-making processes.
Mikhail has also been a regular contributor on LexisNexis’s Immigration law and practice updates and has previously been listed on their panel of experts for LexisPSL Immigration.
Dispute Resolution
Mikhail has been engaged in a number of high-value, cross-border commercial disputes and has gained valuable experience in undertaking general civil litigation work including contractual disputes, debt recovery proceedings and injunctions.
He also has valuable experience in challenging the Home Office’s investigation and decision-making processes by way of Judicial Review proceedings in the High Court and at the Tribunal level.
